TY Graduation Marks a Year of Growth, Talent and Togetherness

Coláiste Eoin’s Transition Year students marked the end of a remarkable journey with a joyful and heartfelt Graduation Ceremony in the Sports Hall on Friday, 23rd May 2025. This memorable occasion was a celebration of all they have achieved – from personal growth to unforgettable experiences that defined their year.

Throughout the ceremony, students spoke eloquently about their favourite moments and the memories that made TY so special. From the buzz of the TY Show and the excitement of Junk Kouture to entrepreneurial ventures through Mini Companies and the school’s proud participation in the National Intergenerational Competition, it was clear that this year’s cohort embraced every opportunity.

Other standout highlights included, Sports Leadership training winning a bronze medal, debating at both local and national level, leading younger peers through the Reading Buddies programme, engaging in, developing musical talents, and deepening their understanding of wellbeing through Restorative Practice. Many also completed First Aid training – equipping them with life skills for the future.

The ceremony was further elevated by a host of wonderful musical performances. Whether singing, playing instruments, dancing – or all three – it was inspiring to see so many students get involved. A huge thank you to Ms Leeann Cummins for overseeing the music and helping bring such vibrancy to the event.

We also extend our warmest thanks to Ms Mary Cummins, TY Coordinator, for her exceptional dedication and care throughout the year. Her leadership ensured that students experienced a wide-ranging and enriching programme that supported their personal and academic development. Thanks also to Ms Máiréad Tompkins for the delicious refreshments and the now-legendary TY cake – a true work of art!

Special congratulations to our award recipients, each of whom embodied the spirit and excellence of Transition Year:

  • Female Student of the Year: Molly Rose Burke
  • Male Student of the Year: Christopher O’Toole
  • Female Spirit of TY: Lilly Murphy
  • Male Spirit of TY: Cathal Cullen

To the TY Class of 2025 – congratulations on a truly outstanding year. You brought enthusiasm, creativity, kindness, and leadership to everything you did. We are so proud of your achievements and know you will carry the lessons and friendships of TY with you always.
