Given the exceptionally wet weather of recent weeks, WOW Day, Wear Our Wellies ,could not have been more fitting at Coláiste Eoin.
Students swapped their usual footwear for wellies and fully embraced their inner farmer, raising an impressive €540 for Embrace Farm, a charity that supports farming families affected by injury and loss following farm accidents. With soggy ground and puddles very much part of daily life, the day struck a particularly timely chord across the school community.
The school was alive with countryside style, muddy boots and plenty of laughter, as students and staff alike leaned into the spirit of the day. A hugely popular bake sale added to the buzz, offering a wide variety of delicious treats, warmly welcomed, especially on such a damp day.
Leaving Certificate and Junior Cycle students sitting their mock examinations were also able to enjoy a well-earned break, with pastries providing a welcome morale boost between papers.
A huge well done and sincere thank you to Ms O’Connor and her Ag Science students for organising such a meaningful initiative, and to the entire student body and staff who supported the day so enthusiastically.
A wonderful example of community spirit, generosity and practical empathy at Coláiste Eoin, proving that even on the wettest of days, great causes still shine through.
