Superb Second Half Sees Coláiste Eoin Clinch 4–2 Soccer Win

Coláiste Eoin were on fire in their latest soccer outing, producing a superb second-half performance to secure a 4–2 victory over Callan Secondary School in a thrilling and hard-fought encounter.

The opening half was a testing one for the Hacketstown side, who struggled to find their rhythm early on. Callan capitalised midway through the first half, taking the lead after sustained pressure. However, Coláiste Eoin showed great character and determination, battling back to equalise before the break to make it 1–1 at halftime.

After the restart, Hacketstown looked a completely different team, sharper, hungrier, and full of attacking intent. Their renewed energy paid off as they moved 2–1 ahead shortly after the interval. Callan hit back to level once again, but Hacketstown’s response was immediate. A well-taken finish restored their advantage before Paidi Connolly sealed the win late in the game, showing great composure to win and convert a penalty for a 4–2 finish.

The result was a testament to the team’s hard work, belief, and never-say-die attitude. Every player contributed to what was a hugely entertaining and well-deserved victory.

A sincere thank you to Mr Peter Higgins and Ms Tracey Dorgan for their excellent coaching, guidance, and support in preparing the team for this match.

Well done to all involved, a brilliant performance and a very proud day for Coláiste Eoin soccer.
