Coláiste Eoin Hacketstown recorded a strong and convincing win over Duiske College/ Coláiste pobail Osraí in the South Leinster Schools Junior Hurling Championship, running out 3-8 to 2-4 winners on Tuesday, 6 January, at the training centre in Fenagh.
Coláiste Eoin proved too strong for their South Kilkenny opponents, producing a well-organised and disciplined performance. While the contest was competitive in the early stages, Coláiste Eoin gradually took control and, in the end, won with a comfortable margin.
The scoring was well shared across the team. Taylor Ryan contributed 2-1 following a very effective performance, while Conor O’Toole added 0-4. Further scores came from Padraig Byrne with 0-2 and Seán Byrne with 0-1. Padraig Byrne also stood out defensively, proving to be a key presence at the back throughout the match.
This result reflects the commitment and teamwork of the players, as well as the guidance of the management team of Mr Ryan and Mr Kearney, whose preparation and support were evident on the day. A thoroughly deserved win and a fine achievement for the school in the South Leinster Schools Junior Hurling Championship.
