TY students Daniel Collins, Emma Connelly and Taylor Ryan fired up school spirit on Friday last with a successful burger sale, raising awareness of Aberdeen Angus beef production in Ireland.
The trio has progressed to the interview stage of the Certified Irish Angus Beef Competition, which takes place this Tuesday in Moorepark, Fermoy, Co. Cork. As part of their preparation, the students recently visited Liffey Meats in Hacketstown to gather industry insights for their project. We are delighted to acknowledge Liffey Meats for their generous sponsorship of the burgers sold on Friday, thank you for your continued support.
Their project, titled “From Pasture to Productivity,” explores how calf activity levels, genetics, and grass utilisation influence the performance of Aberdeen Angus calves, a timely and relevant investigation into sustainable beef production.
We wish Daniel, Emma and Taylor the very best of luck at their interview on Tuesday.
