Coláiste Eoin was delighted to welcome the Cairn Mobile Training Centre to our campus from Monday, 8 December. This state-of-the-art unit transforms from a specialised truck into a fully equipped mobile classroom and workshop, giving students an exciting opportunity to explore practical, hands-on construction skills in a dynamic learning environment.
Across the week, every student had the opportunity to experience interactive workshops delivered by Ollie and Noel from LOETB. The training centre introduced students to a variety of construction skills, including carpentry, electrical work, plumbing, bricklaying, as well as aspects of modern building innovation. Students thoroughly enjoyed using real tools, building their confidence, and gaining insight into the many career pathways available in the construction and trades sectors—including engineering, civil engineering, and other STEM-related fields.
The visit was a tremendous success, offering meaningful real-world experience and sparking genuine interest in Further Education and Training opportunities.
A sincere thank you to Cairn Homes and Ms Mairead O’Keeffe (Career Guidance) for organising this valuable learning experience, and to Ollie and Noel from LOETB for their energy, expertise, and engaging delivery throughout the week.
