TY LIP SYNC
Well done indeed to the TY Class who successfully organised a wonderful Lip Sync event on the 25th and 26th of October The idea is in its second year and has gathered traction and support within the community. In a similar format to last year each year group was represented as they battled for the winning prize money. Winners on the first evening were Great Eight, Ella Ryan, Amy Byrne, Amy Roche, Ailbhe Maguire, Aobha Harmon, Grace Hilliard, Cortney Doyle and Megan Whelan. Winners on the second night were, No Idea ,featuring Eoghan Byrne, Eoin Byrne, Colm Keogh, Sean Tompkins, Noel Byrne and Jake Hickey. The event last year had just thirteen acts, this year almost the entire school participated including teachers and there were 24 acts in total.
Thanks were extended both evenings to Miss Farrell who coordinated the evening and acted as MC also Caoimhe Byrne and Deirdre McCarney for their huge help and assistance with dance moves and confidence building. No show would be complete in Colaiste Eoin without Kieran Fitzgerald and crew who are responsible for lights and sound as always Kieran was meticulous in his planning and the place looked phenomenal.
The entire staff was acknowledged and thanked for their assistance contribution and performance but the biggest cheer was for Luke Connolly. Luke a student organised all the music, cutting tracks and co-ordinating proceedings. He then devised the program and flyers for the event. The judges ensured that everyone had a laugh and they included past pupils Andrew Byrne and Eoin Fitzgerald accompanied by Eliz Townsend local publican. The Parents Association assisted by counting and receiving all the votes and were a huge help both nights.
As always the support of the community both as sponsors and in attendance was the highlight of both nights.
