TRIP TO YOUNG SCIENTIST
The Second Year from Colaiste Eoin travelled to Dublin to see the BT Young Scientist competition and were in awe at the number of projects and solutions to everyday problems that were on display. They were delighted to see the winning project, Optimising the Simulation of General Quantum Circuits. The project which is based around finding optimum algorithms has huge implications for technology as we know it.
Other interesting projects on display included using solar energy to power cars and a tracking device to be used to help caring for people who are suffering from dementia.
It was difficult to see all the work on display as this year there were 1,800 entries but some students were hugely impressed and we hope this will inspire them to achieve great things in the future.
