GAA SKY SPORTS SUPER GAMES CENTRE

Colaiste Eoin was thrilled to be a part of the GAA Sky Sports Super Games program, led and mentored by Development Officer Brendan Hayden. The Sky Sports team came to Colaiste Eoin and filmed the students and as exciting as this was the crew was accompanied by none other than Kieran Donaghy Sky Sports pundit and Kerry legend. Donaghy retired recently after 14 years with Kerry and having won four All-Ireland titles he was perfectly poised to discuss the GAA and what it meant to him with all the students of the school. He spoke eloquently and with humour about what the GAA had done for him. Brendan Hayden who organised the entire Super Games program within the school ensured that the amazing Paul Broderick also represented Carlow football. Broderick who was the first Carlow man to be nominated for an All-Star in 24 years spoke to the students about his love and passion for the game. The Tinryland player showed the students of Colaiste Eoin that sometimes the smallest teams are the ones with the biggest heart. After the speeches, the students did what they do best and played GAA with the best.

The Super Games Centres are part of a GAA vision that allows everybody the opportunity to take part in GAA and develop a lifelong passion for the association. Our school is delighted to have been part of the program and greatly indebted to Brendan Hayden, Development Officer for affording us the opportunity to participate.
