Well done indeed to the students of Colaiste Eoin, 135 of whom appeared on stage for the school’s third Lip Sync Battle on the 24th and 25th of October. The idea has gathered huge traction and support within the community and the school itself. In a similar format to last year, each year group was represented as they battled for the winning prize money. Winners on the first evening were, Grace Mulhall, Emily Heffernan, Ella Forde, Ruby Connolly, Annie Lawlor, Heidi King, Natasha Donovan, Kate Ryan and Amanda Murphy representing First Years. Winners on the second night were representatives from 5th year, Sean Moran, Anthony McDonald, Niall Tompkins, Oisin Foley, Eoin Connolly and Brandon Ryan
The event included 29 acts with almost the entire school participating including teachers and was a phenomenal success.
Thanks were extended both evenings to Miss Farrell who coordinated the evening and acted as MC along with Ms O Meara who multi tasked and organised the acts, acted as a judge and performed on the evening. Caoimhe Byrne and Deirdre McCarney were given a special mention for their huge help and assistance with dance moves and confidence building. No show would be complete in Colaiste Eoin without Kieran Fitzgerald and crew, who were responsible for lights and sound, as always Kieran was meticulous in his planning and the place looked phenomenal.
The entire staff was acknowledged and thanked for their assistance, contribution and performance but the biggest cheer was for Luke Connolly. Luke a student organised all the music, cutting tracks and co-ordinating proceedings. He then devised the program and flyers for the event. The judges ensured that everyone had a laugh and they included Paul Fisher Byrne, Miss Nessa O Meara and Miss Shauna Hickey. The Parents Association assisted by counting and receiving all the votes and were a huge help both nights.
As always the support of the community both as sponsors and in attendance was the highlight of both nights.
